Techmetals has been working closely with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the past several months to apply a unique type of plating process to be used on a portion of new encasements being developed for the National Archives.  These encasements will ensure the safety of the "Charters of Freedom"-  Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. To date, two (2) types of process have been applied and evaluated by N1STfavorably.

We also participated in the unveiling of the encasement model on Wednesday March 17, 1999 in the Rotunda of the National Archives building in Washington DC.

This project demonstrates our ability to take on the unusual and further our reputation as a world leading metal finisher through the development of innovative and environmentally responsive metal plating processes.•
