The Business Development Territory Manager I is responsible for uncovering new opportunities, growing account relationships, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty with key influencers, decisions makers, and senior level contacts.  Additionally, they will need to champion the ability to build internal relationships and work cross functionally to maximize account revenues, as well as, create and drive the execution of strategic account planning, forecasting and budgeting within a specific region.  The Business Development Territory Manager I will also be expected to take advantage of training and growth opportunities offered through Techmetals and externally to maintain an up to date knowledge of Techmetals, current trends within the metal finishing industry, and job specific development, and then apply/bring back this knowledge to educate and strengthen the team.

  • Achieve targeted sales growth for the assigned territory at a rate and profit margin consistent with the strategic business plan. Maintain and increase the sales volume of assigned accounts and territories
  • Build/earn customer relationships through strategic territory planning and account interactions.
  • Create strategic plans to grow new and existing business and support overall financial objectives established by management
  • Articulate Techmetals’ value proposition to the customer and translate Techmetals products into innovative solution sets with developed and sound business cases that effectively persuade the customer to invest in these products/services
  • Co-shares responsibility for defining all tactics and strategies to address and mitigate competitive threats against existing Techmetals’ customer base and/or new opportunities
  • Establish strong consultant-like relationships with key decision makers in both their business and technical organizations
  • Provides valuable assistance to help Techmetals sales, marketing, product management, purchasing, and other lines of businesses to understand and capture new business opportunities
  • Build and leverage a strong network of industry contacts to help contribute to sales success
  • Develop personally and professionally to maintain an understanding of an ever-changing metal finishing industry
  • Maintain & grow a healthy sales pipeline and be able to provide an accurate and timely forecast to upper management
  • Effectively leverage multiple field sales resources (ie. Engineering Firms, Rep Firms, Field Sales Reps, Business Development, etc…) to infiltrate shared key accounts
  • Effectively balance time and priorities across multiple opportunities to meet/exceed sales objectives
  • Maintain appropriate activity levels to support company objectives or achievement of goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer and territory records and files. Prepare and submit call and expense reports as required

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Communications or equivalent experience with strong presentation skills
  • Self-Motivated and highly results-oriented
  • In-depth knowledge and mastery of the Sandler Selling Process is preferred
  • Individual must have excellent business acumen and financial skills
  • Minimum of 30-50% Travel Required
  • Effective use and navigation of CRM solutions
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • 5+ years of successful outside territory management
  • 3+ years industry experience is preferred
  • Techmetals or other industry specific certifications preferred
  • Must be extremely articulate


The Order Services Representative I (O.S.R. I) position will be responsible for basic order review and entry into our ERP system.  The team member will be able to navigate, enter, and edit information within our ERP and CRM package.  All of Techmetals’ customer PO’s will flow through the Inside Sales Support Department and be distributed based upon the nature of contract review required.  The O.S.R. I will need to work with his/her peers and seek coaching when working in the unfamiliar. 

  • Tier one order entry/updates and system navigation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Develop a basic understanding of our plating processes and what is required for every order.
  • Provide reactive communication(s) to our customers with the ability to log and update customer information in our ERP and CRM software to maintain data integrity
  • Participate in continual training and development (internal processes & 

software, product and application knowledge, sales process and outcomes, and industry based training)

  • Provide an extraordinary experience to all internal and external customers
  • Help the team hit monthly revenue goals provided by management
  • Support the internal sales and territory team with order entry, sending out tracking information, order acknowledgments, etc. 
  • Share information with team leads, team and other departments, following company policies and values, balancing short- and long-term goals, and resolving customer issues when necessary
  • Meet all team deadlines and responsibilities.
  • Maintain minimum quality scores and activity levels required of the position.
